Testimony continues in Alamo trial
Pornographic Polaroid photographs of young girls were cut by Tony Alamo into tiny pieces and carried out with the trash, Jane Doe no. 2 testified this morning.
She told the jury Alamo’s paranoia about government intervention often led him to destroy the images that he used his “seeing machine” to view. He also used the machine to enlarge Bible text because of his waning eyesight, Jane Doe no. 2 testified.
The photos were not found when the FBI and Arkansas State Police raided Alamo’s Fouke residence Sept. 20, 2008.
So far, four of the five Jane Does listed in Alamo’s federal indictment accusing him of bringing young girls across state lines for sex have testified.
One of them is the daughter of John Kolbek, a fugitive who’s wanted for battery and unlawful flight for prosecution. Kolbek is accused of being an enforcer who beat children and adults in the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries at Alamo’s bidding.
His daughter testified she feared telling him or her mother about her situation because of her parents’ loyalty to Alamo.
Testimony will continue this afternoon and on into next week.
If convicted, Alamo could spend life in a federal prison.
