Alamo convictions upheld by federal appeals court

Jailed evangelist Tony Alamo’s convictions and 175-year sentence for sexual abuse crimes were affirmed by a federal appeals court Thursday morning.

Alamo, 76, whose real name is Bernie LaZar Hoffman, was convicted by a jury of all 10 counts in a federal indictment accusing him of bringing five young girls he wed as children across state lines for sex. U.S District Judge Harry Barnes sentenced Alamo to 175 years.

The federal Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the convictions and sentence would stand in a nine-page opinion issued Thursday morning.

Alamo is currently serving his time at a federal prison in Tuscon, Ariz.

He will never leave that place!! He is where he needs to be until the Lord lets him go where he is headed! And a true follower of Christ knows he is not headed to heaven rather he is going to the one he has served so well on this earth! Sad but true!! He has admitted no quilt and never said he is sorry for all the pain he has caused for so many families. He hasn’t repented because he doesn’t know the one he should turn to. He has never been a follower of Christ and therefore he doesn’t know love or forgiveness. He has lost everything and still he doesn’t turn to God.
I pray those still supporting him turns to the one real God before it is to late for them.
