Alamo children remain in foster care
Parents of 20 children removed last week from the Tony Alamo Ministries compound in Fouke, Ark., last week waived probable cause hearings Monday in Miller County Circuit Court.
The action means the 20 will stay in foster care arranged by the Arkansas Department of Human Services’ child protection officials pending further court hearings, Circuit Judge Kirk Johnson ruled Monday. Parents of very young children who were being breast fed are allowed visits every other day, Johnson ruled.
Hearings on older children taken into custody in the original raid at the Fouke compound continued Monday in Miller County Circuit Judge Joe Griffin’s court.
