Convicted child sex abuser Tony Alamo will appear before a federal judge for sentencing Oct. 23 in downtown Texarkana, Ark.
Alamo, whose real name is Bernie LaZar Hoffman, was convicted July 24 of 10 counts of bringing young girls across state lines for sex following nearly two weeks of testimony. The five Jane Does listed as victims in Alamo’s indictment testified they were made to marry the “prophet” as children.
If sentenced to the maximum on each count and if ordered to serve the terms consecutively, Alamo could receive up to 175 years.
