Tony Alamo to be sentenced on Nov. 13

Convicted child sex abuser Tony Alamo will be sentenced next month on Friday the 13th.

U.S. District Judge Harry Barnes changed the date Tues-day from Oct. 26, noting an “unexpected change in the trial docket” made the continuance necessary.

Alamo, 75, was convicted July 24 of bringing five young girls across state lines for sex from 1994 to 2005. The jury found Alamo guilty of every charge listed in a 10-count indictment.

In the criminal trial that lasted nearly two weeks, the five Jane Does gave graphic descriptions of life as a wife of the self-proclaimed prophet who was born Bernie LaZar Hoffman.

If sentenced to the maximum on each count and if ordered to serve the terms consecutively, Alamo could receive a total of 175 years in a federal prison.
