Convicted evangelist Tony Alamo seeks new trial
TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) — The attorney for an Arkansas evangelist who was convicted on child sex abuse charges has asked a federal appeals court for a new trial, saying prosecutors never proved his client took young girls across state lines for sex.

Company needs court order to get 3,500 Tempur-Pedic mattresses sold by jailed Ark evangelist
BOONEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A dispute over ownership of 3,500 Tempur-Pedic mattresses bought by an Arkansas evangelist now imprisoned for sex convictions is on hold because one federal court is waiting on another.
A company owned by evangelist Tony Alamo, who is serving a 175-year federal sentence, bought the mattresses from Waste to Charity Inc. and has an agreement to resell them to another company. But Lexington, Ky.-based Tempur-Pedic International Inc. says in a federal lawsuit that it provided the mattresses four years ago to so they could be donated to Hurricane Katrina victims.
