Tony Alamo has a document on his website with headlines from newspapers stating “Lawyers Drop Alamo Case”, “Alamo Child Abuse Charges Dropped”, ” Evangelist Alamo Won’t Face Child Abuse Charges”, and so on, but there are no articles to follow, only the headlines. The reason for this is clear. Tony Alamo has claimed that the charges were dropped because he was innocent but the articles that belong to the headlines tell another story. A story of Tony Alamo in hiding for several years once he found out there was an investigation and then a long drawn-out trial for tax evasion that became the focus of prosecutors instead of the child abuse charges. Research the articles for yourself and you will not find one that says Tony Alamo was innocent of the charges or that the charges were dropped because Alamo was found not guilty. Below is just one of the articles in their entirety.

Children Rescued From Alamo Cult
After a bitter custody dispute, these children were rescued from the Alamo group and spent time at Wellspring Retreat with their mother while she received counseling. The names of the children have been changed to protect their identity. Sadly, the four younger children were abducted by their father shortly after and returned to the cult where they still remain.

The acid test for identifying a prophet of God is recorded by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:20-22. According to this Bible passage (and others), God’s prophets, as distinct from Satan’s spokesmen, are 100 percent accurate in their predictions. There is no room for error.
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in My Name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

As part of a plea agreement that saved him from a possible death penalty, confessed killer Richard Church agreed to tell the full story of his three years as a fugitive, authorities say.
Church escaped Aug. 21, 1988, after killing Raymond and Ruth Ann Ritter and savagely beating his former girlfriend, Colleen, and her 10- year-old brother. He was arrested in Salt Lake City Nov. 21,1991. In between those dates, Church, 23, spent time in California and other states with a religious cult headed by the Rev. Tony Alamo.

The first time I ever used pills to perform was in 1964 when Tony Alamo was flying me around the country to do live gigs that he never paid me for. He used to tell me they were for promotion, but he was getting paid for what I was doing. We were promoting my record “I’m So Lonely/I Wanna Love You” on his record label, TALAMO RECORDS. I was exhausted and he had lined up another personal appearance for me to do in Cleveland or Detroit and I told him I was too damn tired. He pulled a small bottle out of his pocket and tapped a couple of light yellow tablets into my hand and said,”take one of these now and save one for later.” This was to be my first experience with dexedrine. I went on stage and got a standing ovation. A drug addict was born!

Alamo Ministry Resurrected
Fouke residents worry about notorious evangelist in their midst.
Fouke isn’t a town so much as a crossroads, a Miller County outpost in Southwest Arkansas, on Highway 71 between Texarkana and Shreveport. The businesses at its center can be counted on two hands; the city hall is a prefab metal structure. Until recently, its main claim to fame was the Fouke Monster, which, like similar mythical beasts, has inspired a weird combination of fear and pride in the people who live near its territory.

A Trip to Fouke
I made a trip to Fouke on an overcast Thursday in November to sit in on a town council meeting and attend one of the church’s daily prayer-and-dinner sessions. After checking out the Alamo-funded park — a modest turf with a gazebo and playground equipment — I took a walk up to Alamo’s storefront church. The space is not exactly welcoming. A security guard, apparently unarmed, asked what I needed. After I explained who I was, he summoned Ben Edwards, a member of the church and the town council, a short, somber-looking man with a stiff moustache and salt-and-pepper hair. Edwards emerged from the building and asked for my card. After going back inside to make a phone call, he returned and invited me in.

Bad Week for Alamo Ministries
The first week of October was a rough one for World Pastor Tony Alamo, the cult leader who for decades has claimed “homosexuality is caused by demon possession” and the U.S. government is an agent of the “satanic” Catholic Church.
